hiya everyone
im after some advice please!!!
my girlfriend has a 02 golf 1.6 se. it has had a intermitent starting problem for about 5months now! and every now and again the emmisions workshop warning comes on. it runs fine tho, but maybe once a week, she goes to start it and it turns over and goes to start for about 2secs and dies and then just turns over and over! normally when its cold, but it has also done it after a short journey. normally i drive out to her and it starts first time, so i havent been able to find out if its lack of fuel or spark! i am a hgv auto electrician and ive just managed to borrow a snap on reader and the codes in it were 16502/p0118 coolant temp sensor and 16705/po321 rpm signal, reading a few posts it seems that the temp sensor could cause this? 1 of the coil packs went about 2 months ago and when i done a diagnostic check the coolant temp was in the memory then as well as the coil pack. cheers
