OIL flashing on odo

Hi,

The word OIL is flashing where my local trip is on the trip section of my speedo. It's a 1995 A4 2.6 V6. It stops after the engine has been running for a minute or so.

I have checked the oil level and all is fine.

What causes this warning and what should I check/need to do rectify?
