Hello everyone, I'm a newbie to this forum! Am looking to purchase my first Audi after owning a BMW.
Apart from the exterior shape, alloys and steering wheel, were there any improvements made to the ride or handling or reliability etc to the B7 when comparing against the B6?
The Sport / S-lines look very tasty but is the ride rock hard?
Thanks!

Hi Dinnie,
Not sure if there are any improvements between B6 and B7 but I can say that I am impressed with the ride in my S-Line with 18's. Even on rubbish roads it holds well and doesn't feel crashy unless you hit a series of really bad bits.
Best thing to do is take one for a test drive and pick some crappy roads to try it on!!

I haven't driven a B6 but owned two B7s.
I think there has been some minor chassis changes to tauten up the ride and a different steering system.
If you opt for a higher powered engine you get the servotronic steering from the B6 S4.
I also think the brakes are different and you get ESP, not sure if you get this as standard on B6.
I don't think you'll go wrong buying either version although in my opinion the B7 Avant S-Line looks the best ;)

I went from a 2004 B6 to a 2007 B7. There have been some very subtle changes to the suspension on the B7 which improve the handling on B roads, but slightly at the expense of motorway cruising. I avoided the S-line and went for the SE as the S-line, especially with 18" wheels is a real bone shaker on the country roads here in West Berks.
The B6 has ESP also, but the B7 has a slightly updated version, cant comment either way on this. Haven't noticed anything significantly different in the brakes, they were always good.

Thanks for all your replies.
After a google search, I found the following:

It appears there were quite alot of improvements to the driving/handling.
