97 Sharan Electrical Problems

I have a '97 Sharan 1.9TDI Carat. The footwell and side door lights stay on all the time and are contstantly draining my battery. The sensor on the front passenger door is shot and shows as being open all the time. Is there a simple way to just disconnect them as I'm loathed to spend a lot paying for electrical repairs!

i had a similare problem, i popped out the offending door switches, quick squirt of wd40 and since then no probs.

failing that just get a couple of new switches, they are a piece of cake to change
