Chipping my A4

Morning all,

Got a few questions regarding my A4 Quattro 1.8T Sport (180) and getting it chipped.

a) What kind of BHP increase should I expect
b) Is it recommended I service the car before getting it chipped
c) My car has done 122k, is this too high for chipping (does it even matter)
d) Is it worth upgrading the filter on my car at the same time

Have you tried contacting any of the sponsors of the forum? There's at least one re-map tuning company - chipped uk - that is very knowlegable on this and that a lot of folk have used (not me though, still running stock)
A few answers I recall from other thread posts:
a) peak up around 200bhp for just the re-map, more needs turbo and exhaust upgrades for starters...
b) regular service afterwards is probably more important, esp oil change (every 5k?)
c) if it has, and conitnues to be, looked after there shouldn't be problems
d) ...

highly recommended, had my last a4 chipped, difference was awesome and once you stop flooring it to make yourself grin, it will produce better mpg if driven sensibly
mileage is fine as long as its been looked after, just down to how much you want to spend, had a local company do mine for £200 with an 'off the shelf chip' with an estimated 195 bhp but you can spend a lot more for custom jobs
