A4 Cab hood problem

Hi - I've managed to break the lever operated hood stowage tray, in the boot of a 2004 A4 convertible. The hood operates fine, just the lever will no longer lifts up the stowage tray when not in use.

it appears as though there may be a cable link from the lever which has simply detatched. Does anyone have any knowledge on this?....... or am i looking at a dreaded dealer investigation and repair bill....yikes

I am tempted to get the spanner set out and have a dabble, though a few pointers now may save a lot of further damage when i cant get the spring loaded bits back together! (usual story!)

You will have to replace the full storage box i would say.But you may be able to repair the handle and refit the cable
