Retrofit facelift model cig lighter socket?

Hi

I have a T-plate (pre-facelift) A4 with the cigarette lighter in the binnacle in front of the gear lever.

Is it a straightforward job to replace one of the useless cup holders next to the handbrake, with the cigarette lighter module from the later models? ie. Does it slot straight into the same recess?
