View Full Version : Golf GT TSI 1.4 (170BHP)
Hi all, was just wondering if anyone else had one of these cars? I have had mine for around a year and think it is great, the only thing is there are no induction kits available for this model. Has anyone done any modding of the stock airbox themselves or fitted a universal cone? Also... just out of interest is the stock airbox the same for all MK5 Golfs and if so does anybody have one for sale??? I am thinking of drilling the stock one but I will need a spare as the car is on erm loan ;)

Just got one of these last week. So far i'm impressed! Havn't looked into induction kits yet but I did see a dump valve for this engine on ebay!

The dump valve is made by forge.
there will soon be a front mounted intercooler for the tsi 170 from forge aswel.
i no this becuase its being developed on my car :D
as for induction ive just put a bmc panel filter in mine as i didnt want it to upset the maf as if heard it somtimes doesnt like induction kits:confused:
keep rockin my fellow twin chargerd friends
Cool, yeah I modded the stock airbox and just cut a clean piece out the back with a few smaller holes and also fitted a K&N panel filter and it sounds much better now! I already had the dump valve fitted but up until modding the airbox it wasn't very loud, now its much better so anyone else fitting the part may want to consider doing this too. Just think with an induction kit the valve would sound wicked!
