I ask as my Allroad was stolen last week, having your car nicked is bad enough but how the hell does it happen these days? I thought modern cars were foolproof in that they would have to actually have the keys or lift the car, the Police say it was caught on camera going out of town (just numberplate recognition)

But after asking round it seems Volvo's have a system for bypassing the immobiliser, do Audi or VAG cars have a similar way, I dont want anyone posting the methods I just want to know how someone took my car?

any help would be appreciated, if you dont want to flag up your knowledge mail me on uxter@hotmail.com all replies will be treat confidentially

if there are any holes in our security surely we should know about it, maybe time to dust off wheelclamps!

the old volvos can have a fuse removed to bypass it
the new cars as far as i knew neaded a hiab to lift them to take but there must be a way that there key fitted and the transponder matched the other way could have been throu the vag com software but im sure they need a pin to get to it to bypass
at the end of the day there is somthing made to stop some one but there is allways some one that can crack it and get by and take what they want

It looks like other ways of securing your car is now needed. I try and keep my car in the garage where possible, but it looks like it is still vulnerable when I am out and about.

Just out of curiosity, where did your car pinched?
