Hi All......I have a 98' audi a4, 1.9 tdi, AFN engine.
I was wondering what the normal running temp on these engines should be.
Mine sits pretty much at 90 in normal driving/stand still etc, but when its on the motorway, doing between 70-80mph, the temp creeps up to about 100.
Is this normal? Or if not, what could it be?
Thanks in advance, Mark:Blush:

As long as the engine does not overheat,(boil) then the temp is normal.

Shouldnt creep up above 90 degrees really, mine sits dead on 90 however or wherever i drive it ......

Normally these engines seem to suffer cool running usually down to a dodgy thermostat.

Yeah, mine sits at 90 for the most part, whether stuck in traffic, or cruising upto 60-70 mph. But push it a little harder, 70-80, and it goes up a bit over the 90 mark.
Got a new water pump and thermostat too.
