hi, all new to golfs(well i had a mark 2 back in the early 90's)......and new to this forum,just bought a '99 golf gti,need some help with the interior...ive found new door handles,(mine were scratched to ****,that crap rubberised plastic they do gotta be one of the biggest mistakes vw/audi make)...im looking for a drinks holder and need help with the button that controls the mirrors, its snapped off, is this something i can buy and do myself or not?

hi m8 i think you will need to buy the hole switch broad m8 not a 100% but about 70% have a look on ebay.

Mirror control switch is only £21 at the main dealers, I found they were at least £18 on ebay.
if you are careful you can put a thin blade between the switch and the door and it unclips without having to take the door panel apart.

Piece of cake if you're careful.
The whole switch slides out, unclip the wiring from the old one, connect the new one, and just push it back in. 5-10 minutes max.
