Hi Iain,
You can get the seat belt chime switched off using Vag-Com/VCDS.
If you post up where you are someone near you with Vag-Com might be able to sort you out!!

You can also stop the chime by undoing the small connector under the seat that is joined to the selt belt socket.

I thought i was going mad when i got my b7, used to put my lunch on the passenger seat and every now and then it would go off, i thought i had a fault:mad: Only realised when i touched the seat and found out it only took a small amount of pressure. DOH

I had the same thing, the missus came home one day telling me that the car was broken!!!! Argh.... what have you done went rushing through my head... What's wrong with it dear? was thankfully what came out of my mouth though!
Bizarrly she had her hand bag on it and if she went round a right hand corner it would set it off as it shifted in the seat!! I found it quite amusing, but she didn't! :D

Hi there,
A remap on these will go to about 210hp and an extra 80nm. Feel free to call me on 07756 190026. Also the ST3 group buy might interest you. (See signature for details,
Thanks, Mark

Would a dealer do it for you?

Yeah they should do, no idea if they'd charge for it though!! What am I saying, course they would charge.
Probly best to ask about it when it goes in for a service rather than a stand alone service.
But if you find someone with VCDS (Vag-Com) then they can do it quick as and much cheaper I'd say ;)

Noticed on my 04 A4 1.8t that I have the seat belt warning light which goes out after engine is started. There is NO chime which is fine but I was wondering why the warning light will go out when my belt isnt even on?
Can I change this setting under vagcom? If so, which module and whats the coding for the warning light?
Thanks
J

I'd say since 2008 you've probably sorted this out or got another car by now...but for those with the same problems:
Maybe the wiring connector (under the seat, not on the floor...be careful of airbag connectors there) for the seat belt hasp (where you click the belt into) is loose / broken or was disconnected by a previous owner of your car?
