Can i ask why you wouldn't want a MK4 R32?
Stick a couple of turbos on it and it will be as fast as you'll ever need.

Do you want 2WD or 4WD?

would all depend on the cost to take it to 4wd

An R32 engine package isn’t exactly common so first of all you have to pay handsomely to find one, perhaps 2 or 3K. Then you have to convert the box to front wheel drive or find a Golf 3 VR6 box and use that (the easiest solution), buy a bespoke ECU or have the original modified (not terribly successful), decide if you are going to convert the R32 engine to drive by wire or cable throttle and modify the engine of car accordingly, bearing in mind that a DBW ECU is very expensive, find all the other parts necessary to fit the engine, buy all the front brake parts to make it stop, find all the Golf 3 VR6 parts to convert the front suspension to five stud, convert the rear discs to five stud, buy a set of 5 stud wheels, buy a suspension kit and anti roll bars to make it handle, etc etc. Then you have to fit it all and that takes a long time so a fair few thousands of pounds labour. If you used a bespoke ECU, that then has to be mapped from scratch, a job that can take a pro a three on the rollers and then hours of user tweaking over the following moths to get the cold starting and cruising profiles right.

I did see a link for a company that will convert your MK2 to an R32 for £10k.
It was described as a drive in drive out conversion.

yep think it is a alil extra for one of the best brake and suspension upgrades but 8500 for the standard upgrades which they deem as good enough stopping power and handling
it just may be something to save up for lol
