Remove door handle (rear door)

Hi,
I have a door handle that has been pulled hard and is now proud of the fixed handle moulding on an (X plate) 2000 Mk 4 golf. Lookng at the inside of the door (end on) I can only see two fixings for the lock mech and a large grommet lower down. I have removed the inner door panel and cannot see any fixings that would allow me to remove the handle from the inside.
Any help would be appreciated?:1zhelp:

You will have to buy
a) splines
b) T20

Shouldnt cost you more than a tenner altogether.

Procedure
1) Remove the inner trim as you already have
2) Remove the metal panel which should now hopefully be stairing at you
3) Remove the spline bolts on the side of the door
4) Lift the rubber trim on the side to discover a copperish bolt, undo it slowly with the door handle pulled open

Your problem should be cured with step 4) only, but in case it fails, try all.
