Golf 1.6 SE 16v Modifications?

Hi, basically i was thinking about modifying my golf 1.6, but not really sure where to start. Can anyone advise me on what is a good start?

The most common mods for the golf seem to be new wheels, lowered suspension and colour coding IMO.

Since its the 1.6 I am guessing that it has the black bumper strips and orange tint rear lights?

If so I would start by colour coding the bumper strips and valances. Upgrade the lights for gti rear lights or convert the standard lights to all red.

The golf is known for not having the greatest handling. A ggod idea would be to upgrade the suspension to either coilovers, springs and shocks or just the springs depending on how much your willing to spend and if you like the lowered look and maybe buy some new wheels aswell.
