just got a GTTDI (110bhp) with the intention of boostin up the bhp & torque. im wondering if anyone could guide me.

ive herd a remap on a standard 110bhp gttdi will take it to 140-145bhp is this right? or will it get more?

I want to put a front mounted intercooler on it, which should unlock some bhp, shouldn't it ???

also, i was wanting to upgrade the turbo, but not sure what can go on this, would i need to upgrade the injectors too? if so what do you recommend,

Can you turn up the boost on these, if so what can you safely turn it up to?, ive fitted a boost gauge and it seems to boost at 1 bar already, is this right?

is the difference between the 110's and the 150's, bigger turbo, injectors are run off the cam instead of the ecu and the intercooler is bigger.

any other engine mods that will make increase bhp & torque with out having go faster stripes?

what are the possiblilies???

Just bought one myself and very interested in doing the same, so will be keeping an eye on this thread.

A remap will up the boost on the turbo so no need for a manual boost control.

These will remap upto 150hp, bigger injectors help too.

Feel free to call me on 07756 190026.

Thanks, Mark

From what i can gather if you get :-

Bigger injectors
PD150 turbo and outlet pipe
PD130/150 intake manifold
3 bar map sensor
decat.
Remap

this will take you to 160 reliably, am i correct or do you think i could get more?

Add a fmic to add 10-15bhp so 180bhp say if custom remaped.

i need advice on where to get bigger injectors for diesels and also what size i can put on.

anyone got a spare pd 150 turbo kickin aboot?

also, ive fitted a boost gauge, ive seen then on petrol cars running a vacum until you put you foot on the accelerator, then it goes to 0, then when it boosts it boosts up to about 10psi, or in me mates supra, his first trubo boosts at 0.8bar and second boosts at 1.4bar

weras my diesel is weird, when the engine is on, it does not run a vacum, but stay's at 0, and when it boosts it boosts at 1bar, is this correct?

No need for a boost gauge that registers vacuum.

I would not go for the PD150 turbo, they are vastly overpriced for what they are.

Get a decent hybrid turbo (same price as GT1749VB), some PP764 or PP502 or even some R520 nozzles, fit a better clutch, 3 bar map (calibrated in ECU) then remap.

A fmic is ideal but not strictly necessary, the same goes for a straight pipe exhaust.

You should be able to reach 180bhp safely.

Can you point me in the right direction for these parts you've mentioned, i am compitent mechanically, but howay, theirs no need to confuse me with numbers lol.

Roughly how much would ya say i should be looking at for each part?

how would i calibrate the ecu to the 3bar map sensor :confused:

Thnx

I would use The Bosio nozzles sold by KermaTDI

The hybid turbo's will mostly use a small frame GT17 body with larger turbine/compressor wheels.

The companies below show the kind of turbo's used.

You can also get one 'made up' by a local turbo company, which can be cheaper.

The 3bar MAP needs recalibrating in the ECU software, it will let the car 'see' and manage higher boost.

Firstly, pardon my ignorance but what is an "fmic"?

Secondly, I want to upgrade the standard clutch can you advise as to what are the better (not necessarily pocket busting) sport clutch plates available?
I came across this website but it looks extreme for an upgrade of 180bhp.

I'm also thinking of getting a lighter flywheel, do you think this is a necessary upgrade? and if so can you point me in the right direction.

Thanks

i went down the remap route, 150horsies, :). just been to keilder & the borders of scotland, and erm...... its quick. loads of torque. dont really think i'd want anymore power out of it really, it spins in 1st 2nd & 3rd in the wet.

im going to go down the upgrade the brakes & clutch. then when i get used to the power maybe uprate the power even more, but for an extra 10-20bhp i cannot justify spending all that money.

Thanx for all your help

Spud,

p.s. if any of you have an idea of what calipers i could upgrade to, would be a big help, and as dollarman said, any idea's on the clutch?

also a Guide price of what i should be payin, ive been on forums in the past after i've bought stuff, and found out ive had my eyes ripped out.

Cheeeeers allll :)
