Central Locking

Hi, my 1999 passat estate sometimes locks itself unless I have had the ignition on and the keys are still in the ignition switch. Could this be a dampness problem similar to other c/l problems I have read about.:beerchug:

hi do have an alarm fitted on the car. most retro fitted alarms do self locking if after dis arming no door is opened within 15.......20 secs. so the alarm sends a rearm signal and this locks the car.

Hi, it is a factory fit alarm, sometimes I will unlock the car get into it and before I can get the keys into the ignition the system activates all the locks.:(
