Hi
Light on the dashboard has just come up and been on continuously. Something i can check for? or does it need to go to the ********/local garage?

I think that your car will need to be hooked up to a diagnostic machine, vag-com, so that the fault code can be read. So unless you know someone who has one you may have to go to a garage. That is unless someone on here can say otherwise

managed to get a mate to connect up a vag-com and came up with the following results
What i should mention is once faults were found, he cleared these off, and now the light (exhaust emission)has gone out, and hasnt come back on since then (but it has only been a few hours since being cleared)
anyway these are the results:
anyone able to make any sense of these?

I may be wrong, so don't take my word for it, but the emissions light could be linked to the coolant temprature sensor. Anyone else with any info please speak up. You could always take the fault list to your local vw garage and if the technicians are friendly enough they might be able to give you some clue what is important on that list and what isn't
