alright peeps

picking up my 2000 1.8T Estate next week and want to have the wheels sorted for when i bring it home

thinking of some 17inch RS4's but some places seem to want to put on 215/45/17s whilst overs want to put on 225/45/17's

who's correct ???

Id prefer 225's if i can so less likely for kerbage !

cheers

There is 1.44% difference in the tyre circumfrances so either will be fine

Circumference Difference: 1.13 in or 28.27 mm, Leaving a 1.44 % difference.

Results MPH

215 Tyres = 225 Tyres

30 mph = 30.43 mph
40 mph = 40.58 mph
50 mph = 50.72 mph
60 mph = 60.86 mph
70 mph = 71.01 mph

Go for 225's mate.

They are standard fit on a lot of stuff with 17's on from new.

Most of the upgrades I considered for my A4 had 225's and the S-Line ones had 225/45's but then went to 235's I think.

Good luck, wish I could have got some wheels at the same time as buying the car.

cheers mates,

well i wanted the octavia estate really and had a budget of 4.5 K

then i spotted the passat locally, one owner from new, 60k, up for 3 grand was too good to leave. So fortunately this leaves me 1500 to get the cam belt done, wheels and a remap !!!

I can help you out with a remap, I'm quite reasonable I've been told.

PM'd details.

Thanks, Mark
