Looks like I will be viewing Clio's this weekend.
Daughter passes test 4th April
Daughter has major accident on motorway 14th April
Picked a fight with a German articulated lorry.
Daughter fine thankfully. Nice little Fiesta which has been in the family since new is scrap metal! :(
Definitely a write off so looking for a replacement. She has her eye on a Clio but I don't really know much about them. Any advice?

The 3 litre V6 one is nice.

Yes, well thank you for that!
17 years old and already written a car off within 10 days of being insured.
This is not a 3 Litre V6 opportunity unless you would like to contribute to the insurance cost :D

Hi..
I dont know much about them really.. my other half's mother has got one.. not a bad "run" around car..
Look for a 1.2 or 1.4 model from around 2002 for a good buy...
Remeber to check the bonnect catch due to the ongoing issues with them failing.
(See link below)

Apart from that... I guess it comes down to how much you want to spend and what age you are looking for..
Other options in no order..
Corsa, 1.0 - 1.2 - 1.4.. (Corsa 1.0 is a good "first" car, insurance group 1, my sister had one for 2 years on a 53 plate, you can pick them up for around £2k-£3k . )
Another Fiesta??
How about a Polo?
Some thing like this for under 3k??

Thanks for the advice Rick particularly on the bonnet catch I forgot about that despite seeing the very watchdog episode!
At the moment I am being dictated to about which cars are considered 'cool' and which are not! So the Fiesta and Polo are out but the Corsa is a possible.
If I don't like what I am seeing guess I will have to do the unpopular Dad thing and choose myself!
It's a couple of Łk at the most. Once she can drive without hitting things I have to fulfill my promise of a new shape Fiesta for achieving great GCSE exam grades.
My Sister had a Mk1 Clio. Worst car I've ever driven. Every single panel had battle damage (yes, even the roof).
If you can't get her in a Polo/Lupo a Corsa would be your best bet, despite my intense hatred.
I agree with Sam. I too hate corsas. The VW polo that rick has linked to is the very model that i wanted but couldn't afford at the time, thats how i ended up with the fiat.
The polo is a cool car. especially with a forum sticker;)
was the accident a typical foreign blind spot incident? if so she was lucky.

Isn't it, they can't even get the bonnets to stay shut, their electricals are more budget than costco and the breaks slam you into the windscreen with the lightest of touches.
