Just a note of warning to die hard DIY 'ers .... Recently I had to replace drive shaft boots pre MOT and used car jack on body sill ..unfortunatley it snowed during the job and much to my horror when I let car down .(It was still very cold) thinking that was an easy job well done I noticed the windscreen was cracked all along the bottom edge 2inches up from the screen lower frame.
My mechanic friend advises me this is not at all uncommon and due to glass rigidity characteristics when cold and torsion on body combination. Cheap job ended up high cost !
So watch out and jack up car evennly using hydraulic jack on sub frame or not at all if it looks like snow or frost ! Unless you are a pansy with a heated garage !
