Greetings,

New to this so please be gentle. I am historically a firm Mercedes man but have had to change from a saloon to en estate recently due to a further addition to the family. Yes, you guessed it.... there is a furry springer spaniel now firmly in the equation. I have to be honest and say that I didnt go much on the Merc estates and after much deliberation I settledon the audi. I pick the Audi up tomorrow (10th April 08)

I would really appreciate it if you could post a few messages of confirmation that I have done the right thing as to be honest, I am already missing the Merc.

Much thanking in advance.

Good Choice

One thing to check on the car is the gearbox oil change has been done evey 40k if not leave the car as the auto gearbox has a common fault of slipping
and if the gearbox oil change has not been done ever 40k . audi uk would not
contribute to the cost for 7 - plate clutch conversion

I'm an ex-Merc man, past Mercs include 4 old 280 Mercs, a C Class and an A Class. I've never regretted it. The Audi build quality is the best I've ever seen. Don't expect the ride to be as smooth as the Merc, the Audi has a sportier layout. Audis are more of a drivers car in my opinion.

Don't worry, you won't look back! ;)

Paul

Thanks - i have to say that I am not overly impessed so far. When I pull away from scratch, i hear a screech up to approx 1k rev's which doesnt seem right. Also, it seems rather amateur compared to the Merc. Might have to go back at the end of the year!

Can you spread some light and maybe convince me otherwise?
