average mpg quattro sport petrol

iv got a avant 2002 18t sport quattro does anyone know the average mpg
im only getting 32ish on motorway at a steady 70 i floor it everywhere but just thought id check iv had a few 18t quattro and always got more than that i know this is a avant but shouldnt change mpg much ?
steady round town is more like 22 26 mpg

i have the 2.0 avant (not the turbo) and am only getting 450miles to a tankful (75Litres) which i think is roughly 35mpg when driving longish runs. Driving around town i reckon its probably more like 25mpg. Seriously considering a diesel for economy, and because the petrol has very little torque up to 2500-3000rpm.

i got the older one 00 1.8t i average about 24 in the city
