2007 Passat/Caddy g/box swap - advice please

I have a brand new 2008 Caddy 1.9 TDi ( 5 speed ) - would the gearbox from a 6 speed 2007 Passat TDi be a stright forward enough swap ?? All advice is apprciated - thanks ( also posted in th commercial section of the site )

Not sure, but the engine is completely different technology which may have a bearing on it...

Yep , fair point . I find the Caddy a superb wee van and the only draw back is that the engine is working pretty hard at 80mph - given the motorway work that I do it would suit another cog . Other than that a super van for weekdday transport - thanks

The Caddy is available with a six speed box, the 02Q series and the KDM code was the only one I can see used. This box is also used in the Touran 2.0 TDI. As there is an original option, I see no reason why it could not be done.
