Batteries, Batteries Batteries!!

Hi all,

I have a VW Passat SE 2.0 2002 with a AZM engine.:approve:

I changed the battery yesterday using this fab link:http://www.weirdlittlebiscuit.com/passat/leak/ and the help of my lovely wife:biglaugh:

My concerns were the conflicting info and prices I was given in my search.
The ******** told me I needed a battery with 61ah and 330amps which is an original replacement. £103 to buy and £93 to fit!!!!!!!!!!:mad:

Eurocarparts said 45ah

Kwik Fit said bring it in! Halfords, Unipart, Internet and on and on!

Finally, PW Europarts advised 55ah (the 60ah they had looked too big to fit my car)

I went with the Bosch Silver maintenance free 55ah and 3 year guarantee for £48 inc VAT

Could someone please clear the confusion what battery is best and have I made the right decision.:1zhelp:

Basically the biggest one that fit's is the best one in my opinion
(physical size and performance numbers)
although i wouldn't split hairs over 5 AH

I agree, since the tray is nice and big (space for the Diesel battery no doubt) why not go big. As long as the current battery has more or the same AH as the last you should be OK
