Engine noise and white smoke from under the car

Hi, I have Audi 2003 A4 1.8T, 89,000 miles. Tonight when I was driving my car it started making noses in engine area. I opened the hood and noses were coming form the rear side of an engine. Also white smoke started coming from under the car and it was increasing during my next 10 min driving to get home. Does anybody know what the problem is and can drive my car to my mechanic or I should call for tow truck.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

presonaly id toe lats time i decided to drive one of my audis the water pump had gone and i blew the lump was an AVJ couldnt get 1 so cost 1500 to rebuild not sayin this is the case with yours but better to be safe

I checked today in the morning engine leaks with transmission oil next to passenger front wheel. It's very intensive.
