power in 4th 5th gear,,,when im putting the foot down in 60 or 70 mph roads, the revs go up but im not getting the power, any idea what this could be

When you say "Power" is it just not as it used to be? or is it revving stright up to high revs and not getting faster?
if it;s the first, and just slow accelleration, I'm no expert, but maybe the Air filter, or Air Mass Meter? had a similar issue in my Golf.

just replaced my belts today:(

Sounds like a clutch from that, but it would also happen in lower gears at high revs?
If it is a clutch problem dont keep doing it else you will need a new flywheel

Spot on bud ;) glad to see peeps getting their heads round the issues with DMF - been banging my head against a wall for years :o
