Hi, just joined up with the forum! recently bought my first Passat ( 2000 TDI Sport) and its all very nice but i want to change the head unit and cd changer. I have decided on the Blaupunkt Hamburg MP57 and probably the Kenwood KDC-C469 CD changer, does anyone know if these two units are compatible and do i need any adaptors for the install?
Take it easy!!

The Hamburg has excellent USB with support for 320kps mp3, so you may as well just use a small and fast USB2.0 stick with iTunes or Winamp and save the money for something else. CDs and DVDs have pretty much had their peak and all media is gradually moving over to non-tangiable distribution.

Hi,
Thanks for that, suppose that is the easiest way to look at it. Must just be my age! Still thinking of CD's before MP3!
Nice one!

I agree with snap dragon.
CD changers are pretty pointless these days. I have a Queens MP56 with a lacie 40Gb hard drive in the glove box.
You are not in all honesty gong to need more music than that in your car !!
If you don't need the blue tooth the MP56 and MP66 are easier to operate with the multi function buttons down the side, particularly useful if you have a large library of music on the USB storage device.

And the Kenwood changer will NOT work with the Blaupunkt head unit...

I have just installed the MP57 headunit and decided to go without the cd changer.
At the moment i am running a 2Gb MP3 player through the USB and that holds plenty of tracks for the time being.
Thanks for the advice!
