funny noise 1.9 tdi

Can anyone throw any light on this one? got a funny noise at 1500rpm its like a vibration almost, happens when the revs are coming down from 2 to 1000 rpm. Its not causing any performance problems but just sounds strange.

Engine cover??? the engine does like to move around abit so two parts that are close to each other could touch and make this vibration sound. Any idea what the noise actually sounds like cos you say vibration. is this in general, in the engine bay?

sounds a bit like a whisling noise or even a popping sound.
