Hi All,
Just logged on to encourage Stuart to keep site going ... and thought I would post here as well.
I drive a T-reg VW 2 ltr diesel Turbo Sport which had only got 38,000 on the clock when I bought it 18 mths ago. It runs extremely well, and now have 66,000 on it, as a result of regular weekly 200 +100 mile runs, plus other travel.
The thing I like best, compared to my previous 10-year old Granada is the fuel consumption, averaging out at about 53mpg across all journeys - brilliant - 600 miles from one fillup.
It is also a good motorway car, even though it is not a 'racer' (but at nearly 60yo I am not a racer anyway - I just want to get there in one piece and avoid the majority of other lunatic drivers who seem to believe they are immortal - tailgating each other at 80mph with less than a car's distance between a line of 6 or 8 of them :zx11:, and believing that in an emergency they will get away with a scratch!)
Yes, I'm a grumpy 'ol man, as well, but one who just enjoys living. ;)
