I have a 2.0 TDi Sport 170 DSG

On gear changing up from 1st to 2nd it changes about 1700rpm

All the other changes happen just over 2000rpm which seems a little too high when I'm driving, "Old Man style"

I had a courtesy Jetta Auto and all the gear changes were at 1700rpm.

Is this normal for the Passat?

Blip the gas pedal at about 1800 rpm & you will find that it will change up.
