Hi guys, this is my first post and i would love to say its great to have access to the font of all Audi lore - however having read the threads I am now bricking it over the multitronic issues! I have had a 2004 130 tdi from new which developed a slight shunt when stopping after approx 20K - now done 42K and no further change in behaviour. Oil was changed by Edin Audi at 30K - i do this early in any auto so just as well. Only does this from cold start in winter with temp guage at 50c. Never when hot or oddly enough when cold. Also have the issue of unwillingness to move off when cold on a slope but a minutes tickover or quick rev to start moving the oil through the valve block seems to cure this so I hope this is characteristic and I have nothing to worry about. Cheers :biglaugh:

Its the start of a long slippery slope I expect! These are similar symptoms others have reported in the beginning with their multitronic issues, although many seem to carry on regardless as its not rendering the car inoperable, its just not as smooth as when brand new. Might be worth having a word with your dealer & Audi UK customer services saying you've been made aware through internet forums of chronic problems with the multitronic gearbox & with your car so recently out of warranty you'd like a 7-plate clutch conversion done please as your experiencing signs of failure now. Worth a shot at any rate!

You could have a word with one of our sponsors, Inde-Tech, he is a specialist with Multi-tronic;) See the "Site sponsors" section for contact details.
