headlight bulb

Hi,
I have a 1999 1.9 tdi
Last week I replaced my nearside headlamp bulb cos it was quite a bit dimmer than the offside one, ran ok until today, same problem, the bulb is lit but dimly, works perfect on high beam, is it just bad luck or is there an inherent problem?

I would say you have a connection or wiring issue, Check the backing cover is secure as water can get it there. also clean the contacts on the connector and check for any obvious damage. Melted wire or splits.

You could, leaving the bulb in, measure the voltage across the Bulb on both sides and compare, if its lower on one side and the bullb is new you have a problem.
