Fuel Consumption - Passat 2.0 TDI DSG DPF 170PS

I have just taken delivery of an 08 plate Passat 2.0 TDI DSG DPF 170PS and have noticed that although I am getting good fuel consumption readings on the computer (in excess of 33mpg around town) the fuel gauge seems to go down quicker than I would expect.

Has anyone else had any experiences like this?

Might be worth brimming your tank and zeroing the trip, etc.
