Sorry if this is a stupid question - new to VWs I'm afraid.
My car has the small screen between the dials in the dash (multi function display?)
ONnit I can see trip information and use the OK button to switch between trip 1 and 2.

My manual refers to an ability to change settings such as entry/exit light delays - one touch window control etc etc but can I access these with my smaller screen solution?

Yes, Like me, you haven't got the full "Highline" Computer (Multi Function Display).

I ordered a top spec SEL DSG with Weather pack etc... expecting to have the ability to change settings as mentioned in the manual, but am unable to because it only has the "Midline" computer.

I'm writing a letter to VW complaining about this.

If you have the coming/leaving home lighting funtion, it's can be changed with a dealer's computer, or VAG-Com (A laptop based software and cable).

Sounds like you have the same unit as me, which I think is standard fit on the SE, and thus the answer is no.

I have a SE TDI estate with the Premium telephone system and so multi function steering wheel. I can access all the options such as coming home/leaving home function so is the computer in mine an optional extra?

I have an 07 SEL also without the multi function display and I find it disappointing that VW would scrimp on this. Come on VW you can do better.

This is true, they can do better. I specified the premium handsfree (dog danglies by the way) and with it the multi-function steering wheel.

I am guessing that with the former comes the Highline as for the phone it needs the full length display, rather than the half screen of the midline.

Hi, I am from Australia and new to this forum.

In Australia, we only get the highline computer on our Passat. The "Midline" ones never get introduced in here. Just curious to know what sort of price you guys paid for the midline model?
