warning buzzer when lights on

Hi all

I am terrible for leaving my lights on and used to have a buzzer when I opened the door and lights were on, but now its stopped working.

Can anyone offer any advice :)

This is normally as a result of a faulty micro switch in the door lock module.

Do the interior lights come on when you open the door ? If they don't then suspect the door lock.

I've got the same problem on my Passat but my door locks are ok. On mine, it is the buzzer itself which is part of the instrument cluster. I havn't attempted a fix as yet and don't want to replace the cluster for the sake of the buzzer.
