HI CAN ANYONE TELL ME HOW TO REMOVE THE CAT OFF OF MY A4 TDI 115 2000. I HAVE TRIED BUT CANT GET TO BOLTS SO I GAVE UP. ALSO IF ANYONE HAS KNOCKED OUT THEIR CAT DOES IT MAKE A NOTICEBLE DIFFERENCE confused:

if it is the original one it will probably be 1 piece up to the manifold. i have just had to change mine as it had split on the upward bend, just at the metal mesh part (1.8 non turbo). i needed to buy a new front pipe and cat. (£195 from gsf inc. gaskets and clamps)
The main difference on a standard car will be increased turbo noise, and a smellier exhaust.
The turbo may spool a little quicker, and top end power may change.
It is not worth knocking out the matrix as a power mod.
If you do go down that route, i would get a 'same diameter' cat replacement pipe, which will flow better.

As mentioned above, top end power would suffer.
