**BLOWN ENGINE ON 2.0SE (51 reg)**

yes guys, my engine has blown :zx11::zx11::zx11: :aargh4::aargh4::aargh4:

car has 97k on the clock with full service history.

driving down the m62 yesterday car gave one jerk and next minute black smoke poured out the back.... got it on the hard shoulder popped the bonnet and theres oil p***ing out the side got recovered home and the mechanic had look at it in the mornin. turns out the oil pump had failed and a piston blew causing a hole in the side of the engine :zx11::zx11::zx11:


now having rung around all the scrappies and motor factors the 2.0 se 20v ALT is a rare engine :zx11: got a quote off euro parts for #1,995 (sorry pound sign not working on keyboard) for an brand new engine. im considering my options scrap or new engine???? :mad: :mad: :mad: :confused: :aargh4: :aargh4:

Bad news there mate..

Where about on the M62 where you??

Not much you can do really if its blown an hole..

I am 5 minutes off J24 on the M62, and my mate works for Audi, so if you have any questions i may be able to get you some answers if i dont know myself.

Any chance of a photo showing the damage??

il be able to put fotos up once i get the engine out.

it happened just after the m606 junction, i was heading towards manchester.

i think il be tempted to put a new engine in rather than messing about with a second hand one. theres no way il be able get a recon on my engine too.

Just had a look on ebay..

Theres a 2.0 engine here... Cam belt snapped.... but you may be able to get the block and rebuild??
