Gaz the Cab

About 7k miles ago I had the clutch changed by a Clutch and Gearbox centre in ELLESMERE PORT, but after a very short time it developed a judder so it was changed again....this time a new flywheel was also fitted...............well............it still juddered http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/images/smiles/icon_cry.gif . When it was cold virtually normal, but with use over a few hours it started to judder, and the judder became worse as time passed. It juddered when pulling away from a stand still, but was much less if the car was moving even slightly.
I have never thought clutch changing was "rocket science", a local clutch and gearbox centre did the 2 changes......
This has now been resolved, I was very reluctant to allow the first clutch clinic a third attempt so took it to T + R Clutch in Chester (have used them before), a new LUK clutch and LUK flywheel were fitted.......all judder has disappeared http://www.ukpassats.co.uk/phpbb/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif
On inspection of the "old" (less than 10k parts) it was found that the flywheel was an LUK one, as supplied by me on their second attempt, the cover is stamped LUK but no idea how old it is, but the real sh***er is the friction plate........"National Remanufactured 63424 543 02A". Clearly this was the problem all along.
I cannot see the point in this especially on a diesel with the torque involved.......what makes it worse is they told me "we only fit LUK parts", maybe they fit SOME LUK parts.......when I took it to them prior to their second attempt they said as it was a cab "normally we don't give warranties" but as you've done less than 2k we'll have a look at it.
TOTAL W***ERS!!!
So now sat in my garage are the old bits including the flywheel which has done less than 10k..........
The moral of that story is only use trusted garages/clinics recommended by people you know and trust.
