Remove the phone cradle from the base plate - bit of a tug and it will unlatch.
It should have the version written on rear along with the phones it accomodates.

You've probably got the nokia pop port interface. I've just bought a cheapy 6610i off fleabay just for it.
Do a search for Nokia pop port phones and you'll find a whole list of phones. I came across a site which listed every phone by pure chance but saved it on my other computer which has now died,so cant provide the link..sorry. HTH

I have taken the adaptor off of my car and it lists which nokia's its compatible with, for info these are: 6310i, 6310, 6210, 7110, 6110, 6130, 6150, 5110, 5130.
Is it possible to buy a different cradle as i want it to be compatible with my sony ericsson w810i, does anyone know where i can buy the adaptor for it?

I think that system you've got in your car is the "nokia cark 91" if so then your probably best off buying an old phone such as the 6310 and then put your sim card into it. If its anything like the one I have fitted then you'll be pleasantly suprised by how good it is. I believe you can buy pop port adapters but I don't know what phones they'll allow you to fit. A word of advice If your going to buy a second hand phone then make sure you get one from a reputable dealer as it took me two attempts on ebay to get one that worked correctly.
