audi a4 reader coil problems??

hello guys

i have an audi a4 1995 which had its reader coil replace 3 years ago at a cost of 300 pounds

the sane problem seems to have come back ie card starts adn then 2 seconds later cuts out

just been quoted 250 pound labour and 80 pound parts for a new coil- which is very grim

anyone know of independents who may be able to do the work if i buy the audi parts in the midlands area?
any advice gratefully received
