View Full Version : 1.8T engine
I currently have a mk4 golf GT TDI remapped 160bhp and 280lb-ft torque.
I am looking to get a 1.8T 190bhp A4, if i do would i miss my Golf? Even though the Audi has more BHP it has much less torque. Even a remapped A4 only has around 220lb-ft torque.
Or is the power band in the Audi alot better that it wont miss it?

In honesty mate, I miss the torque of my old diesel. There's no substitute. But the A4 will more than make up for it in other departments. Or alternatively, you could fork out a bit more and go for one of the diesels maybe a 3.0tdi quattro for instance. (I wish I had big deep enough pockets) Plenty of torque in that.

Im looking for a B6, 3.0tdi was B7. I dont want another diesel as i only do about 5000miles a year. Also for some reason the 1.8T 190 s-line is lower insurance for me than a 1.9tdi or 2.5tdi.
And i dont think my budget will go to a TDI as they are worth more.
Anyone else with any more views??
