Humming!!!

After driving my 2006 Passat TDI 140 for about an hour a strange low frequency humming inside the car starts. I've turned off the climate control & radio and it's still there, it only goes away when I switch the ignition off but comes straight back on when restarted!!! Has anyone had a similar problem or know if the TDI's have an electric fuel pump feeding the fuel from the tank as I think it's coming from the back of the car??

The fuel pump is a known problem - do a search as it's been mentioned on here before.
