Please forgive me, my knowledge of engines and the such is basically non existant. Only since joining this forum have i started to take a real interest on things!

My oil level drops down fairly quickly (top up once every 3 months). There are no leaks (that i can see). Is this normal or excessive? Doesn't seem to have been as bad lately, i did used to drive it hard and short from cold in the mornings flying to the station:o

Anyhow, i've been topping up with castrol GTX 10w-40 a3/b3 (these numbers mean nothing to me!:o). I've just noticed that when my car was last serviced Mobil 5w/30 was used. Have i been a deeeeek by mixing the 2 and should i continue with the GTX or get the mobil for future top ups?

I think this is the Mobil one

Bit embarrased about this but hey if you don't know, you don't know :o:D

Carry on with the GTX. The car will get used to it. However, if you did stop booting it from cold it may use less oil... but I'm sure you know that, you just don't want to stop. I know the feeling.
