Hi all

I own a 2006 Golf GTTDI 170 which when I went to drive it away this morning has all 4 windows down by approx 2 inches! I am sure I did not leave it like that last night!

Is anyone aware of any problems with this model and the electric windows that would cause them to slip down at the same time?

or does it sound more like a thieving little gypsy was trying to break in? Is it possible to remotely control electric windows (all 4 at the same time?) - there was no visible damage to the exterior of the car!

I suspect if it was a thief, the existence of an alarm put them off going any further.

anyone else had anything like this happen to them?

cheers:1zhelp:

yes.

go to your car, stand next to it and hold down the unlock button. All 4 should drop untill you release the button.

then hold down the lock button. All 4 should close.

Not a thief, just you with something pressing against the unlock button on your key for a few seconds!! You will find that the car was also unlocked!!

Fairly common amongst VW/Audi users who are unaware of what happens when you keep the unlock button pressed after the car is opened. Try it and see for yourself.

It also works in reverse! If you stop the car with the windows down, just lock the car as usual and keep the lock button depressed. All of the windows will close.
