hello.

have a VERY good read through the how to section and read links within posts.

I KNOW there is a guide where someone uses a bespoke wiring harness for a mobile phone kit but i don't know which kit or where he was based.

the lead for the armrest cd changer.

Maybe one or two pop up on ebay from tome to time but deffo from the dealers. The end of the lead simply clips in to the main connector block at the rear of the radio. I've had mine out so i know this is true.

The 6 cd unit is more frequent on ebay, but also from the dealers. As far as i'm aware it does NOT play mp3's

Tell me how much the dealer would sell you a 6 cd and the lead for?

Thanks for that! Dealer wants £30 which seems sensible enough - ebay ones are £20...but as for the CD player............£380!!

If anyone has one, then it'd be handy ;-)

tbh nick

why would you want the cd changer when you can have what i've listed below for less?

get one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DIRECTED-DV-2603-DIN-CAR-DVD-CD-MP3-PLAYER-NEW_W0QQitemZ330212851984QQihZ014QQcategoryZ67772Q QtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

and using the following 2 items to connect it to the mfd2

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AV-MULTIMEDIA-INTERFACE-MFD2-RNS2-VW-SEAT-SKODA_W0QQitemZ330211308424QQihZ014QQcategoryZ1398 23QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
and a shorter version of
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/7-62m-TRIPLE-RCA-COMPOSITE-AV-CABLE-For-HDTV-LCD-TV-DVD_W0QQitemZ170193727569QQihZ007QQcategoryZ32837Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

all this is cheaper than the 6 disc cd player.

What is your location nick?

That look interesting! I have just bought the centre armrest from VAG parts with the CD changer slot in after replying to another one of your posts with the intention to get the changer from VW but this looks much more interesting! Will definately look into this once i get it all fitted!

put this in for the next stage. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330148210917&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014

you will also need a wireless dongle, a couple of usb extensions, a wireless keyboard and mouse, and a vga to phono converter;)

If you can stretch to it have one of these. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330175709808&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014

do it before you fit your new bits, just so you are sure you don't have to take it all out to install.

Well its all done!

Not too much of job....

CD Armrest was £125
CD Changer (6 disc) was £100
Cable £23

So all in all not too much cash and whilst was doing it did the centre rolly cup holder thing. Bout 3 hours to do the lot and very chuffed! The Parrott bluetooth kit goes in tonight, any questions then please ask - have the cuts to prove it!!

Cheers
Nick
