Watching the tv this morning and a childrens programme was quoting astonnishing facts "The Amazing World Of Weird" it's called. One question was how much would you pay to have your car washed?
They went on to talk a little about a guy in Surrey who will take your car apart and detail it top to bottom over 6 days at a cost of £10K. Who is this man, ever heard of him before or are they spinning a yarn?

Heard of 4k, but nothing like 10k!

Never heard of the 10k but he openly advertises the 5k inside out complete works. His name is Paul Dalton. He gets the punters though, mostly well-off beyond the usual well-off. Fair to say that he makes a few quid at it. I am certainly not going to drool at this although I know of others who gather round such claims and behave like groupie puppies and who should know better.

10k is ridiculous, as is 5k. Not worth it at those prices I'm afraid. As someone who is very into transforming cars, I simply cannot argue the case for that kind of pricing, no matter who is doing the job or what the wax is or how many coats get applied. More money than sense if you ask me. I'm all for good detailing but I'm also aware of many children out there who need to rely on precious funding to make their lives only just bearable. People who can dispose of this sort of money on a whim for having a car detailed should be sent out to work in a real job. Thank goodness for the sensible detailing and detailers out there.

Makes a £300/£400 job look like bargain of the century. Some people even turn their noses up at those realistic prices.

Kind of puts things into perspective really.

the youtube video is worth a watch, but its all bells and whistles. A good mahcine details will cost between £300-£500 and would be well worth the investment to a car. I am speaking after having my TT detailed and it did give me a new lease of life with the whole cleaning your car game.:approve:

as long as there are kids starving in 3rd world countries, i can't possibly even begin to understand how people justify spending £10k on simply cleaning a car, no matter how you dress it up or what you call it, that's all it boils down to in the end.
