heater blower problems!

hi all i was wondering if anyone has come accross this problem im having, i have an 1997 A4 1.9 TDI, even when i select full power there is hardly any air coming thru the vents, although it is deffo worse if i select the windscreen. if i press the recirculation button the pressure increases at the footwell and dash vents but not the windscreen, took the motor out and that appears to power thru settings 1-4, have been told it could be a faulty resistor so i found that by the blower motor but its not connected in any way ( then i dont get wiggly amp stuff!!) dont want to buy a new blower motor and its the same if ya know what i mean. any ideas would be great.

People on this forum have previously mentioned that the flaps inside the air con motor are sticking. Having said this, I've never had this problem so I don't know how to dismantle it.

cheers for the reply, got to the motor and wiggled the electrical plug and it got better, but as soon as i let go it stops again. must be a bad connection somewhere in the loom or inside the motor. probably try and get hold of a second motor and try that.
