Not sure. Obviously set to give rwd or awd being 90 degrees to how many VW engines are setup. My guess is its a TDI engine from a passat or similar? Maybe a 2.5? but it looks very simlar in many ways to a 1.9. Does the passat have rwd/awd? Hmmm. Clueless, me. :D

Thankyou for your reply. The engine is a 1.9 tdi engine,it does say red di on boot and she is a 2000 model,can this help ...?I just bought the car from insurance company on the net and hav not seen the car as yet only photos.

If its red DI, then chances are its a 130bhp PD engine, the ASZ engine. It seems to run in the family, that TD(silver) I(red) = pd100 ATD engine, 100bhp, T(silver) DI(red) = pd130, ASZ engine, 130bhp, and TDI(red) is the ARL engined' PD150. :)

Don't blame me if it turns out to be a pd100 though. ;) Better off getting matey to check the engine code on the block itself. It always starts off ATD,ASZ,ARL, etc.

Hi, that looks identical to my '00W red DI passat PD 115 (ATJ 85Kw) motor, but as has been said it could be a 100, 130, 150?... engine code will show.
