How much for a new gearbox?

Y reg Polo 1.4 match, 47000 miles and the gearbox has gone, any ideas how much this will cost to replace please? I'm bracing myself.....

my missus just got hers done by a mate of mine. recon gearbox and new clutch from ecp was 636 then 200 odd for oil, recovery and fitting! they arent too cheap!

I ended up paying £808 for clutch and new gearbox, I can't believe how much I've spent on the b****y thing recently. :aargh4: Money down the drain but I have no choice....can't afford another car yet. :(
